I heard someone say recently that the reason that anyone feels stagnant in their life is because they fear going deeper. This idea stuck with me. At first I wanted to think of all the reasons or cases this would not be the case. Then I started to think that it isn’t exactly that I feel stagnant in my life but maybe just bored or too into the same routine. Basically it comes down to the fact that ideas and inspiration are just not flowing through me. I have felt this way for a while and thought maybe it would pass, but it hasn’t. What is a girl to do when she is not feeling inspired by life or trying new things? I guess the dude was right – gotta go deeper. Why would it be scary? Well, change can be scary and doing new things can be scary, I guess. I am not sure what I could be scared of, but I am vowing to you here and now that I will look that fear in the face and jump into the deep end. How else am I going to get where I need to go?

There have been a couple of days since I being back from Costa Rica where I just feel down.  In a funk(ytown).  When I step back and look at the reasons why I feel this way, it is almost always a lack of exercise and sleep that really puts me over the edge. Other people around me have also been in a funk or feeling down, so I thought I would make a list of the things that have helped me most during these times. I also think, subconsciously or consciously, I am making a list as my own personal reminder of things that I can do to snap out of it.

HOW TO SNAP OUT OF IT

Be honest with yourself and the people around you about how you feel.

Don’t deny or feel embarrassed of how tired you are.

Take some deep breaths – preferably through an activity.

ONLY listen to happy music.

Remind yourself that we are slowly coming out of winter and of course you feel insane.

Remember all the cool friends you have and how much people care about you!

You will feel totally differently tomorrow – trust me.

Go to a group meditation.

Don’t spend more time alone than you really need.

Watch physical comedy in any form.

GETTING into Kundalini yoga.  It’s pretty crazy and I hate at least 65% of the time I’m there but once I’m gone, I can’t wait to go back.

NEGLECTING the books I have piling up at my bedside.

SUBLETTING my NYC apartment thru May 1st and holding out hopes for a bicoastal life thereafter.

STRUGGLING to adapt to Daylight Savings.  I keep waking up and feeling like I got punched in the face.

We hope you all enjoyed this daylight savings weekend.  Here are this week’s pics from our weekend:

I know this is a horrible picture, but it represents how I spent my Saturday night. Has anyone ever played the game Werewolf? If not, I am not entirely SURE that I recommend it.

L:  Tonight (Thursday) is a full moon, do you have an intention and would you like to share it?

F:  Everyone is mentioning the full moon to me this month so I feel that it is significant and I want to take it seriously.  My intention for this full moon is to let the past go and feel inspired by the future.  I feel really good about this intention and hope to bring it to life.

L:  What is one of your favorite Instagram feeds?

F: The Chalkboard Magazine @thechalkboardmag, Design Love Fest @designlovefest, Valley Cruise Press @valleycruisepress and HoneyLunne @honeylunne.

L:  What day of your 90 day work-out are you on?  Are you liking it?

F:  I am at the end of week 8.  I had a bit of a hiccup during my vacation and am having hard time getting as motivated as I was before. But, I know this is all part of the process.  I still love the workouts and know that weeks 9-12 are going to kick my ass.  I will keep you posted for sure!

L:  Have you listened to any good podcasts lately?

F:  I have been trying to listen to more music lately, so I have opted out of the podcasts game for now. Some of my favorites though are This American Life, Here’s the Thing and Fresh Air.

L:  Do you have a Suz memory you’d like to share?  I’ve been having a lot of dreams with her in them lately.

F.  What?!  You are just telling me this now through our blog and not in person. What kind of dreams?  I want to know everything.  I wish I was having dreams with her in them.  I was thinking about her so much in my meditation last night.  I miss her so much it almost breaks my heart to think about her.  Some of my favorite memories of her today are having her there at Teddy and Kelley’s wedding, making cookies with her around Christmas and basically every phone call I have ever had with her.  I wish so badly I could call her.
