We posted the first round of pictures from the Haute Dog Halloween Costume Parade from our soon to be sister-in-law, Kelley, last week. Though Halloween feels like ages ago, we didn’t want you to miss the second half.  They’re too amazing.

I had the wonderful opportunity of swimming in the infamous Dead Sea.  It was an indescribable experience.  After the wonderful feeling of weightlessness, I wanted to look into all the trace elements and minerals in the Dead Sea.  I learned a lot about the extraordinary healing properties of swimming in salt water. If you are interested in learning more, check out this site.

The food in Israel was a huge and welcome change for us coming from Asia. We had not really had fresh fruit and veggies for a couple of months.  But in Israel, we ate lots of salads, figs and fresh isreali salads.  It was amazing!  Here are some pics we snapped along the way.

Fresh figs at the market

Shinitzel

Handmade hummus

Sesame paste sweetened with honey (Halva) – one of the best desserts in Israel.

I used to subscribe to Domino magazine, while it was still in regular publication.  Prior to the subscription, I’d never before had that feeling of excitement over a magazine subscription.  But with Domino things were different.  I wouldn’t open a new issue right away.  Instead I’d save it for an evening when I was home alone and could really enjoy it.  I loved those night.  I think it was the loveliness of the images, colors and layout of the magazine that made it feel so special to me.  I’ve saved every issue I ever received, and when I’m feeling like I need to jazz things up in my apartment, I refer back to old issues for inspiration.

Recently I came across this Flickr group with tons Domino images.  So fun!

Our time in Israel has been such a wonderful experience filled with awesome people, amazing history and fresh food.  Tel Aviv is a completely modern and Western-feeling city with tons of young people and a beach town vibe.  We had some days when surfed, sailed or swam and other days packed with sight seeing.  We made two day trips, one to Jerusalem and one to the Dead Sea, that were both indescribable.

After spending two weeks in Israel there are almost too many words to say.  I think this time around, I will let the pictures speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy them.

While Farrell and I are traveling together, we’ve asked our soon to be sister-in-law, Kelley if she’d take over the Picturesque posts.  And she really delivered!  Because every picture she sent is worth seeing, we’re splitting them into two posts.  Check back next Monday for the second half.

Inspired by the cuteness of our own dog in costume, Teddy (aka Brother Tango) and I decided to take a trip down to Long Beach, CA for the annual Haute Dog Halloween Costume Parade. The  warm, sunny weather almost made me forget that it was late October, but the Spooooky Halloween costumes quickly brought me to my senses. Overall, it was the cutest 45 minutes I have ever spent. If you’re  ever in SoCal over Halloween, I highly recommend going. Enjoy!

As soon as we arrived in Tel Aviv, we drove through the streets listening to this song. I knew I would like Israel from that moment on.

Can we all agree that Queen delivers pretty much every time? I think so, anyhow. I find myself rediscovering their songs again and again. This is the one that feels right today.
