It’s already beginning to feel a lot like Christmas but before the holiday season kicks into full force, I am savoring the unique time in my life that was this fall.  The past few months have been a panoply of experiences and emotion.  There has been devastating loss and nothing short of magical moments.  I have felt intense joy, grief, gratitude, loneliness, inspiration, abundance, anxiety, anger, love, heartbreak, calm, relief, support, jealousy, inspiration, elation, denial, acceptance, freedom and ease.  All of life packed itself tightly into these fall days and with it came an incredible expansion of time.  And limitless beauty.

I have always loved pictures. I love looking at them, taking them and receiving them. I almost always save my favorite pictures that people text me. Here are some of my favorite pictures lately. Thanks everyone who sent them to me. Keep ’em coming!

IMG_5369At the beginning of last week my dad called me and asked me if I’d like to go with him to a reception he was invited to at the White House with President Obama.  I can barely believe I just typed that sentence – and obviously the answer was yes!  The reception was thrown in appreciation of ongoing support of President Obama and lasted three hours.  Pretty immediately after arriving we got into line for a photo with the President in the Blue Room.  Once our turn came, I shook the President’s hand and he asked me how I was doing.  I’m not entirely sure what I said in response but I clearly remember thinking to myself, The President of the United States just asked you a question and you should be speaking now.  I really tried to resist the urge to have my phone out taking pictures the whole time so these photos aren’t the best but I thought I’d post them anyhow.  Of those I saw, the recognizable spaces within the White House were all smaller than I imagined they would be. Portraits and paintings, mostly of past presidents, line the walls everywhere you look.  A number of military officers from all the different branches have social posts in the White House and were stationed in every room.  It was such an exciting evening and I can barely wrap my head around the fact that I just went to the White House and met the President.  Sharing the experience with my dad only made the evening all the more special.  I’ll never forget it.

Had an incredibly fortuitous visit to the Dia Art Foundation’s Dan Flavin Art Institute and left with instruction to spend the next six months viewing art, being in the present and manifesting through gratitude. Sold!

Our Mom came out to LA last week and we had so much fun!  Once she arrived, we had a delicious homemade meal at our house.  Then we spent the weekend in San Diego and saw two Monster Rally shows.  We had more good meals, spent time together in Atwater Village and topped it all off with a psychic reading!  Thanks for coming, Mama.

After spending the weekend back in NYC, I returned to Bridgehampton, NY on Sunday. I am renting a friend’s room here through the end of November (though I’ll also be in NYC and Cleveland for portions of the month). It is beautiful and quiet here. Yesterday I went on a late afternoon walk on the beach and the day seemed to grow exponentially more beautiful every minute I was there.
