FEELING tired after my travels and having a hard time getting back into the groove at work.

TRYING to beat my Tuesday morning headaches. What gives?!

LOVING that I return back home to sunshine and the ocean.

LISTENING to The Tim Ferriss Show podcast and trying to soak up all the wisdom of his guests.

The weekend before last I joined some old & new friends for a long weekend in Mexico City (which I learned is the second largest city in the world!). I can’t express how much this city has to offer and I’d love to make another trip to keep exploring it.  We stayed in this awesome AirBnB in La Condesa, a somewhat trendy neighborhood with mezcal margaritas abound!  Our mornings were spent at an amazing taco stand conveniently adjacent to friendly neighborhood coffeeshop; afternoons were for taking in the sights.  These are some of my favorite photos from the trip.

At the end of this week I’m meeting up with some friends in Mexico City; afterwards I am going to stop in Texas to meet up with another friend and take a quick road trip to Marfa, TX.  Marfa is a hub of minimalist art, which I’ve been checking out in a pretty major way since my first trip to the Dan Flavin Institute in Bridgehampton last fall.  At this point Marfa is a place I really only know through word of mouth and Instagram.  I’m super excited to see it for myself and, in the meantime, am reading up on it here | herehere | here | here.

F:  Do you think you New York and LA share any similarities?

L:  I think they are both places where by and large people respect each other, even if they don’t have much in common.

F:  What is your favorite cocktail?

L:  I love a drink that includes champagne/prosecco and St. Germain

F:  What is the next meal that you will be making for us?

L: When she was visiting LA, I asked my friend Maggie to send me pictures of what she eats for dinner so I can copy her style, which is delicious and healthy food that is easy to make. She’s recently discovered the versatility of cauliflower; so perhaps I’ll start there.

F:  What is a trait that you would would like to work on building?

L:  Self-pride.

F:  Have you thought about painting?

L:  I have. The time will come.
