I got back to New York (and an apartment with power!) on Tuesday after a fabulous trip with our dad to Turkey, and a short stop in Paris. It was so wonderful to see Farrell and Albert, and we had such a great time! We’ll tell you about our trip over the next couple of days but we didn’t want to wait to turn you onto Monster Rally & RUMTUM’s recently released second collaborative EP, Coasting. I absolutely love this album and it has been the perfect soundtrack for re-entry into real life, while maintaining a vacation vibe.
A limited number of etched vinyl records, designed by our brother Teddy (Monster Rally), are available for purchase from Gold Robot Records. We are once again enamored with his work!
Check it!
We posted the first round of pictures from the Haute Dog Halloween Costume Parade from our soon to be sister-in-law, Kelley, last week. Though Halloween feels like ages ago, we didn’t want you to miss the second half. They’re too amazing.

Thanks, Kelley!!

We hope your weekend includes something as seasonally delightful as this picture.

It’s Friday! Hurry on to the relaxing.
I used to subscribe to Domino magazine, while it was still in regular publication. Prior to the subscription, I’d never before had that feeling of excitement over a magazine subscription. But with Domino things were different. I wouldn’t open a new issue right away. Instead I’d save it for an evening when I was home alone and could really enjoy it. I loved those night. I think it was the loveliness of the images, colors and layout of the magazine that made it feel so special to me. I’ve saved every issue I ever received, and when I’m feeling like I need to jazz things up in my apartment, I refer back to old issues for inspiration.
Recently I came across this Flickr group with tons Domino images. So fun!
While Farrell and I are traveling together, we’ve asked our soon to be sister-in-law, Kelley if she’d take over the Picturesque posts. And she really delivered! Because every picture she sent is worth seeing, we’re splitting them into two posts. Check back next Monday for the second half.

Inspired by the cuteness of our own dog in costume, Teddy (aka Brother Tango) and I decided to take a trip down to Long Beach, CA for the annual Haute Dog Halloween Costume Parade. The warm, sunny weather almost made me forget that it was late October, but the Spooooky Halloween costumes quickly brought me to my senses. Overall, it was the cutest 45 minutes I have ever spent. If you’re ever in SoCal over Halloween, I highly recommend going. Enjoy!

Well everyone, the storm has come and gone. It’s been an intense couple of days. I’ve been without power in my apartment since Monday. Yesterday, I walked a little over 8 miles to work. Tonight, I’m leaving to go meet up with Farrell and Albert in Istanbul. I’m excited but utterly ill-prepared. I have no clean laundry and this is how a large part of my life has looked over the last couple of days:

(Pretty different feel than this picture I took out my window over the summer)
We’ll have lots to tell you about our trip to Turkey when I’m back. Until then, we have our regular schedule of posts on tap, including Farrell’s recent time in Jordan and Israel. Stay tuned.
Happy Halloween!
It’s a double celebration at Sister Disco because today is also our one-year anniversary.
We’ve had so much fun getting this site up and running over the past year, and we’re really excited to see where the next year takes us. We are especially grateful to each of you who has contributed your thoughts, photos and playlists or allowed us to feature you as part of our Homie series. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
With much love,
Lauren & Farrell
