Web series are all over the place (meaning the internet) these days. Here are some that have really kept my interest.

High Maintenance

I love this series and how they show a different person every time. It makes for a perfect web series.

Tangents and the Times

Not only because Monster Rally is all over this series, but because I like it and don’t like it at the same time.

Remember back in the day when MTV did different unplugged shows? Well, this isn’t what this post is about. I found out about this new meditation place in Santa Monica called Unplug Meditation. I was drawn to their look and aesthetic at first and thought the idea could be very interesting. The first week of their opening is free and so I thought I would head on over.

For me, it was a great reminder to get out in the world and try new things and also to keep up with my mediation.

I am not sure how much I will frequent Unplug, but I really like the idea and wanted to pass it on.

Checking out the final works of the trifold body drawing game. Hilariously rewarding.

Since my mom lost her phone and I live so far from my family, I can’t resist the urge to share some birthday photos. Thanks everyone for making me feel so special on my birthday. Hi Mom!

I got home from work on Thursday night feeling unmotivated to go to yoga and wanting to indulge in something.  I thought about going to get my nails done but didn’t really want to spend the money.  I thought about going out to eat or drink but I had plans later in the evening so that didn’t make much sense.  And then I remembered the New Museum’s Pay-What-You-Wish night, which happens every Thursday from 7-9p.m.  I used to take advantage of Thursday’s at the New Museum, which is only a few minutes from my apartment, much more often.  It had been a long time since I was there.  When I stumbled into this interactive exhibit, Paweł Althamer: The Neighbors, 2014, I was thrilled!  Art supplies and smocks were available for the taking; musicians played at the front of the room and everyone was busy contributing to the art, snapping photos, filming video and taking it all in.  It was by far one of the most energizing experiences I’ve stumbled upon in months.  I could have stayed for hours.

I live with an artist. In fact, painting is Albert’s first love. Recently, we went to the children’s play room at LACMA. Albert picked up his little paint brush and whipped out these two images:

And there I was dumbfounded. This is what I came up with:

Hilariously enough, I think they represent us both pretty well. What can I say, I like flowers.

L:  How are you?

F: I am currently sitting at the DMV and am surprised by how fine I feel considering I have been here for 2 hours.

L: Do you have any good tips for staying organized?

F: Hmm. We all know I love organization. I would say that my first tip is to stop saving everything! Get rid of things all the time. My second tip would be cute boxes, shelves and drawers to keep things in throughout the house.

L: What is something you’re trying to cultivate more of in your life?

F: I am actively trying to be more creative. Last night , I told David (the older of our two brother) and Albert that I have always loved cutting things with scissors because it makes me feel like I am being artistic but really i am just being a control freak 😉

L:  If we had a sister band, what kind of music do you think we’d make?

F: I feel like we would really fight so hard between being super emo and dance pop-ish. I think in the end we would settle on dance music because we understand its importance. I imagine a keyboard senerio a with lots of bright colors.

L:  What’s a memorable meal you’ve eaten recently?

F: This is hilarious timing because a man asked me to text him when his number was coming up like 2 hours ago. I thought it was a pretty whack request but my mid-western politeness said ok. He just showed up with a plastic bag of food for me that smells so strong and insisted that I take it. I haven’t looked in the bag yet and am pretty sure I won’t be eating it. Nice gesture though.

I had the mostly lovely weekend in New Mexico for the bachelorette of my beautiful friend Alison. With all of the planning and logistics I never really thought about the fact that I would be going to New Mexico for the first time. I really loved it. The drive from Denver to Taos was so gorgeous. The mountains and the plains were unreal. Overall, the whole weekend was so great and I recommend Taos to anyone who is interested. Here are some of my favorite parts from the weekend:
