For Albert’s birthday this weekend I surprised him and took in to good ole Pioneertown, California. Pioneertown was built in the 1940’s as a Western movie set by the big wigs in Hollywood. Their intention was to having a set in which you could live on while shooting. We stayed in the Pioneertown Motel which was a quaint ranch turned hotel with the option to board your own horse. Every day around 2:30pm on Main Street they do an old fashion shoot out and the town comes alive with actors from the Wild West. There is a famous bar called Pappy and Harriets where a lot of well known musicians stop on their way to Los Angeles to play. We spent the night dancing to the sounds of The Freightshakers. The whole weekend was a total riot and I recommend it to anyone who goes to the Joshua Tree area.
Happy Monday! Before you get to far into the week, enjoy a little look back at the weekend.

I just got back from spending almost a month working from the East Coast. Although I am exhausted, dehydrated and bloated I am also extremely grateful for all of the wonderful people in my life. This past month has been filled with deep conversations, weddings, storms, light breezes, walking, biking, laughing, crying, adjustments, boating and rest. Living on the West Coast has been so great for me. After being back in NYC, it really helped me realized how important the move to LA was for me. My life in LA has given me the opportunity to grow in a way I otherwise would not have be able to. It provided me with space and calm that I needed to slow down.
It has taken me a long time to realize how important it is to return to places you once called home so that it can serve as a mirror. You get to look back and think, “I feel different here now and that feels good.” I think a lot of these realizations are part of growing up and out of old patterns. Although I have said it before and I will say it again, there really is no place like home.
Hope your week is off to a good start! Here’s a look at some of our weekend:
